A Tribute to Our Sweet Bailey Rose

Fair warning – you will go and hug your pets or your friends’ pets when you finish reading this post. I am so heart broken to share that last week we lost our great love – Bailey Rose. Without going into too much detail, we did everything we could to save her, but cancer took her. It all happened so fast that it is still so hard to grasp. She was my first dog. She was my daughters’ first dog. She was Hannah’s best friend. She taught me about the purest of pure of unconditional love and companionship. I will miss so many things, but right now what I am missing the most is the sound of her sliding her feet across the wood floor to lay down and then when she was about half way there, she would drop to the ground. I miss the sounds of her paws walking across the wood floors. I swear I still hear it sometimes. I miss her waiting for me to go to bed at night before going upstairs and even when I would start to head up, she would stop half way to make sure I was behind her. I miss that when you pet her, she leaned her head right into you as her version of a hug. I miss her rolling on her back and playing with her favorite red ball while she made hilarious sounds. I will miss her playing with Hannah Mae, and Hannah misses her so. If she was here right now I would be spoiling her to no end. I would sleep on the floor if she needed to sleep on my bed. I would just love to have a few more days with her. But I know that is not how it works. So instead, I ask you to spoil and love on your furry friends in memory of Bailey Rose. Maybe give them a little extra attention and a couple of extra treats. Trust me, you will not regret the extra love when they are gone. Our hearts are truly broken, but we are so thankful for the almost 9 years we did get with her. She was an amazing dog and best friends to us all. Thanks so much for reading. SaveSave]]>

I’m so sorry for the loss you all feel, and the heartbreak that I know you are experiencing, but you were blessed to have had such a good and faithful friend to share in your life for so many years. I know she taught you all some wonderful lessons and leaves you with amazing memories. What a tremendous gift she was to your family.

5. You and your family have my deepest sympathy. I know the pain of losing an animal family member and you have described it perfectly. Animals teach us so much.

6. I just lost my best friend, my heart dog, 2 weeks ago. I’m still in tears and I too wish I had had a few more days. I miss him so much. His cat sisters miss him too and that is even more heartbreaking. I’m grateful for the time we were given but it’s never enough. My thoughts are with you all.

7. Laura…my heart breaks with you. I completely understand how you and you family are feeling right now. I have been there. It’s heart wrenching. I pray for peace for all of you and sweet sweet memories. Much love.

8. I’m so sorry, and I feel your pain so keenly. We lost our daughter’s service dog – my partner in caring for my daughter – very suddenly to cancer just a few weeks ago. Like you, I still hear her tags tinkling as she walks through the house, I still think about her when I hear thunder – thinking she’s going to be scared and want to go in her kennel, we missed her getting excited and getting underfoot when we were preparing for a trip last weekend. Like you, we are utterly heartbroken. Hugs to you and your family, and your other furry friends.

9. I am tearing up and grieving right along with you. We lost our Sheltie, Madden, to cancer this June. I want him back so bad – healthy and happy. It literally breaks your heart – their love is so unconditional and pure. Just know there are many pet lovers out here who know what your heart is feeling. I am so sorry for your loss. She was beautiful!

10. Aaaw, so sorry yo hear this. I can relate . We have lost several dogs and. Ard that we were so attached to. My son and his wife just lost of their beloved dogs to cancer. They knew their other dog ( her constant companion) would miss her so much so they went out and got a rescue puppy within a week or so. She has helped fill the void. Hugs to you !

11. I am so, so sorry! She was a beautiful dog and I am sure she knew how much you all loved her. Our dogs become family members and you really don’t realize that until you have one. My heart breaks for you. Sending hugs.

12. I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are like no other. I can’t imagine living a life without them. Sending love and hugs your way.

13. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Our pups are just part of the family. They bring so much joy & unconditional love. Prayers for your hearts to heal soon & memories to make you smile.

14. Hi Laura –
It is the hardest to have to say goodbye to our four-legged best buddies that are part of the family. Life just doesn’t seem the same without them. Your photos of Bailey Rose are so cute and I am sure you will be looking at them more and more over the next few weeks thinking of all the joy she brought you. Thinking about you. Give Hannah a hug for me. XO

15. Beautiful and loving tribute to your furry family member! A reminder…to never take their presence for granted, they can be gone in a flash. Losing our fur family is never easy, they entwine themselves around our hearts and never leave again. It is important to mourn their loss, just as any other loss. One day your sadness will lessen to a more manageable level and you will smile about the memories that you shared.Heartfelt condolences to your family on the loss of Bailey Rose and hugs to Hannah Mae.

16. I am so sorry. Please accept my condolences. Their absence leaves such an empty space. I believe they’ll be there to meet us and that they continue to watch over us. When you see one of those small white feathers in your path that seems to have dropped from nowhere….

17. I am so sorry for the loss of your loyal companion. My husband and I have experienced that kind of sorrow. May the memory of her love and devotion, along with her fun loving antics, soon bring sweet smiles and fewer tears than at this raw time of grief. Thank you for sharing the love.

18. I am so, so sorry for what you are going through. We lost our Charlotte two years ago and it, too, was fast. We try everything that we can for them and I have to believe that, even if it doesn’t end the way we wanted it to, that they appreciate and love us all the more for it. After all this time, sometimes I think I hear her walking around upstairs or sitting in the corner of the couch. I like to think that she knows that I’m missing her and she sends those little sounds and visions to let me know that she is still here, even if it’s only in my heart. I will keep you in my prayers. Take care, Stacey

19. Sweet Bailey Rose.
It is so difficult when we have to say good bye to a pet we love. And it is so difficult to adjust to life without them. Aren’t we lucky to have them in our lives for a time, such joy.
With sympathy, Ruth

20. Such a beautiful fur baby! So very saddened by your loss. I have been there & yes, it hurts, they are our children too; a HUGE part of the family. Time will help…in the mean time, prayers!

21. I am so sorry for your loss; Bailey Rose sounded like an incredible companion. When we lose a beloved pet, it rips out part of our heart. She was a beauty-don’t know if she was a doodle or a Standard Poodle, but I love her expressions. Our daughter’s Standard does the same thing with leaning in to you, like she’s hugging you.
May memories comfort you, she would tell you thank you for giving her such a wonderful life.

22. Laura, so sorry to hear about your precious Bailey Rose. What a sweetheart she was! Your hearts are aching for her right now. I know you and your family will really miss her. You will have so many precious memories! Hold on to these as they will bring you great comfort in the days ahead.
Our dogs are so special and they are worth all the spoiling! We just love our little 9 year old Maltese “Princess” — and she is always following us around too. A pet is such great company and they love you unconditionally! We have always said that a pet that enjoys a wonderful family and home has the best life! How true this is! They just become so much a part of their loving family.
Blessings to you!

23. I am so sorry about your beautiful fur baby. I cried when I read this post. Our youngest fur baby Gracie
(almost 10 years old) has been having issues with her kidneys since April and we were told Monday that she is now in kidney failure. We are now enjoying the time we have left with her. Our house won’t be the same without her. We have two other fur babies but our Gracie is the life of the party. She makes life interesting. I pray that the empty place in your heart fills with all the happy memories you have of your sweet Bailey Rose.

24. So sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a pet is difficult. We lost our little chihuahua last year (on Mother’s Day!) when she found a tiny hole in the fence and walked into the neighbor’s pool. It was heartrenching to lose her in such a terrible way. Your Bailey was a lucky girl to have such a family. God bless.

25. Laura, I’m so sorry to read that you lost your sweet pet so suddently. I’m praying that the Lord will comfort you and your family including Hannah.

26. Laura,
So sorry about the loss of your beloved fur baby. I know how hard it can be. Please take comfort in knowing that Baily Rose had a wonderful life with a family who loved her. The lessons they teach us about unconditional love and to just have fun and laugh every day is such a blessing.

27. I am sorry about your dog. We are dealing with the upcoming loss of our first dog, too. Pete is a 13 year old lab/aussie mix with the gentlest of temperments and the boisterous nature of an aussie. He has just reached his time and can no longer get up on his own to eat, drink, or use the bathroom and we will have to put him to sleep if he does not pass by tomorrow. He is so strong-willed despite his failing physical state. We decided that after school tomorrow would be best so the kids have the weekend to grieve without having to focus on anything else. I am going to miss my sweetie Pete. He is such a beautiful boy.

28. I am so sorry for your lost loss. I have lost many pets while living here in our farmhouse. When we first moved here, we decided to get every kind of animal we ever wanted. Over the years, they have all passed, but we often look back and speak of our love for them. All I can think of is “better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.” Your baby will be waiting for you in heaven, leading you up the stairs.

29. Such good thoughts about that furry lovable friend. Dogs touch us in a way no one else can ever do and leave a hole the size of Texas when they leave us. Hugs to you all…….

30. I am sorry for your loss, I too had lost my dog of 17 years, and you do think you hear them in the house somewhere after the fact. Is that crazy or what, but it is true. So don’t feel alone there, I will pray for your healing heart.

31. I am so sorry for your loss. Our fox red lab mix will be 9 on Friday. I had a stroke last fall and Chase even came to the rehab center to visit every night. He had a huge fan club among the workers. My husband walks him everyday for 4-5 miles. He even walks with me and my walker. He is the best dog. My daughter is a missionary with Young Life in Berlin and she loves coming home to spoil Chase. I remember well when Cooler our Chocolate, who was a therapy dog for 12 years, died from cancer at almost 14 years. Pups really capture our hearts.

32. I’m so sorry. It’s always way to hard to have to let them go! I know you gave her a wonderful forever home.
Stay strong thru this hard time.

33. My sympathies to you and your family. I lost my beloved ‘Little Guy’ about 4 weeks ago and I personally know the loss is tremendous. Remember the
wonderful times. Time will ease the pain – slowly.

34. I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved friend. We lost a dog to cancer (he was the first one I’d had). He went quickly, too. The vet told us he had cancer (lymphoma) on my birthday, and 3 weeks later he was gone. That was about 20 years ago, and I still miss him. May the Lord comfort you. Jesus said God sees even a sparrow fall. I know He cares about your grief. Lois

35. Laura, I am so sorry for your loss and know how special Bailey Rose was to you and your family. She was a sweet beauty and I believe you will be reunited in heaven. God gives us our comforting pets and will reward us in heaven again with their love. Praying for you and your family during this difficult time. Cheryl Ann

36. The problem with having pets is that they don’t live as long as we do and they take a piece of our hearts when they leave. Our Nina is 13 – pit bull mix – and she also has cancer. Fortunately our Vet says it is a slow growing cancer and she should have another 4 years. Sometimes the best way to remember our pet is to get another one. It is not a replacement but another place to share the love we have for all of them. I hope each day gets better.

37. So, so sorry to hear that you have lost a ‘family member.’ I have an eight year old male Goldendoodle and know that your hearts must be very empty and sad.

38. My heart truly hurts with you. The loss of one of our four-legged family members is devastating—cancer just makes the blow that much harder.
Thank you for sharing you joy and pain—we are one big family! Consider a gigantic cyber hug coming your way. Now I will be playing with my cat—Isabelle.

39. So very sorry for your loss. We’ve loved and lost many furry family members over many years. Each loss takes a little piece of your heart. Just know that they will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge for that glorious reunion. Until then just continue to recall all the sweet memories.

40. My heart breaks for you. I too, lost my beloved dog this past Saturday. Have faith that your sweet dog and mine are running free in heaven.
