Keeping the Christmas Table Simple

I am so excited to share the first of my Christmas decorating with you today.  If you are joining me from Maison De Cinq, welcome.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Today, I am sharing a simple tablescape for a Christmas table. While shopping last weekend, I found the simple placemats in the dollar section of Target.  Then I found the adorable plates and I knew I had something that would work.  Later I found the navy runner and red stripe napkins at Homegoods.  I used navy velvet ribbon to tie on some jingle bells to the napkins. Down the center I added some cedar sprigs to varying size jars and added more jingle bells and some vintage ornaments.  I didn’t add water when I set the table, but I will add it so it will last longer. Sometimes it just needs to be simple and easy to create a welcoming table and by setting the casual tone with these fun plates, I think it does just that.  I wouldn’t have thought of navy for Christmas right away either, but the little bit of navy in the tires pulls it all together. And now it is time to stop at the next stop on the tour, Zevy Joy.

  1. Congratulations!!! I just saw your berry basket filled with pancake mix and maple syrup featured in the luxury edition of the Washington Post Magazine in this past Sunday’s edition. It was such a great article about taking the time to find a thoughtful hostess gift. Hope you get lots of sales from the Post article. I would be more than happy to send you the magazine if you haven’t seen the article. Please let me know. Although I miss your blog terribly, I’m so thrilled that you have worked diligently as a family to create a successful business. Keep up the great work.

  2. Laura your table is so charming! I love the blue and red together, and the plates are adorable. So happy to be joining Lory’s hop with you!
    Happy Holidays!

  3. Hi Laura,
I have been following your posts for many years now and it was so neat to see your maple syrup and pancake mix at Field House in my home town of Beverly, MA. I hope your family is well and that your business is thriving!
    Merry Christmas,
